FamBam is a Tucson guide that needed an identity. It’s a blog that gives information about local products, artists, and activities. The audience is parents living in Tucson likely college educated and care about their community. They are interested in having all of the information before making a desicion.
Solution:
FamBam needed a website that showed its audience that they are looking up all the facts and presenting it in an aesthetically pleasing way.
Client:
FamBam
Tools used:
Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel

When deciding the look of this website we had to consider what the vibe was like in Tucson. Tucson has a boho feel and is usually sunny and warm. The audience needs to have soothing colors so they feel comfortable staying on the website for longer periods of time to read through the content. The website should feel like a calm desert. However, the color scheme should still have a bright color to keep it fun and fresh. The color palette considered was a good starting off point.

I like to approach wireframes as mobile first since over 50% of people have access to mobile devices.
Problem:
Including all of the facts in a way that is easy to scan
Solution:
Include graphs that can be read at a quick glance and make the important information stand out.
Our audience wants all the facts and if they are on the go they can still get all the information. The graphs may appear small on mobile but if our audience chooses they can click on the graph to expand it.
I want to include information about what to do with kids indoors. This seems counterintuitive because it’s summer and people like to be outside. The summers in this area are very hot and it isn’t a good idea to be outside all summer.
